Biography

Scott Ramsay, PhD, PEng is a registered professional engineer in Ontario. Scott earned his PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Toronto in 2007. Scott's current primary academic interests are in improving the quality of undergraduate engineering education. Dr. Ramsay has taught extensively in Materials Science, teaching courses ranging from introductory materials science to thermodynamics, diffusion, materials selection, manufacturing, biomaterials, and building science. Scott is currently an Associate Professor, Teaching Stream, of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Toronto, in Toronto, Canada

Scott is the recipient of the Faculty of Engineering Teaching Award and Early Career Teaching Award at the University of Toronto. These awards recognize a faculty member who has demonstrated excellence in teaching during their career. Recognizing his efforts to improve the quality of undergraduate laboratory activities, Scott was the 2012 recipient of the Wighton Fellowship from the Sandford Fleming Foundation at the University of Waterloo.
