2nd International Conference of Materials, Chemistry and Fitness-for-Service Solutions for Nuclear Systems (MCFD) 2021 CONFERENCE

October 14, 2021 - October 15, 2021

Solutions to emerging or ongoing problems often require innovative and multidisciplinary solutions that involve elements of engineering from: materials, chemistry, stress analysis, thermal-hydraulic analysis, probabilistic assessment methods, examination and inspection approaches, and operational strategies. This is the case for most major nuclear plant systems and components, regardless of reactor type.

The MCFD2021 Conference will focus on the challenges, innovations, and experiences encountered when addressing issues of chemistry, materials, or fitness-for-service in nuclear power plants. Student participation is encouraged!

Make sure to save these dates in your calendar:

Abstract Submission Due: August 13, 2021

Author Notification of Acceptance: August 27, 2021

Final Presentations Due: September 30, 2021

CANDU System Chemistry Course (Complimentary  with Conference Paid Registration): October 13, 2021

MCFD2021 Conference: October 14-15, 2021

The 2nd International Conference of Materials, Chemistry and Fitness-for-Service Solutions for Nuclear Systems (MCFD2021) is still accepting abstracts until August 13th!  We are interested in topics including steam generator tubing, CANDU fuel channels, PWR and BWR plant components, steam cycle components, and more! Abstracts are to be a maximum of 250 words.

Don’t miss out on your chance to present at our conference!

Registering for MCFD2021 gives you free access to the full-day virtual CANDU System Chemistry Course held October 13th!

In this course, you will learn the basics of the synergy between plant chemistry and material corrosion/degradation, focusing on chemistry control, corrosion issues, and corrosion mitigation strategies for CANDU systems. Whether you are new to the subject or not, this course will provide plenty of opportunity to learn new information and real-life examples! Find out more here:
