Leili Tafaghodi is an Associate Professor in Materials Science and Engineering department at McMaster University, Hamilton, Canada. She leads Process Metallurgy Research Group focusing on sustainable high temperature materials processing. She is affiliated with McMaster Steel Research Centre, a hub for R&D on iron and steelmaking. Prior to joining McMaster, she was an Assistant Professor and the Extractive Metallurgy Industry Chair at the University of British Columbia. She obtained her PhD on thermodynamics of silicon refining at the University of Toronto under the supervision of Prof. Mansoor Barati.
