The Department of Materials Science & Engineering came together for Buckyball 2025, an annual evening of celebration, awards, and community building.
Held at The Eglinton Grand, a long-standing tradition for this event, the evening brought together students, faculty, and staff for a night of dinner, dancing, and connection. Organized by the MSE Club, the event provided a memorable opportunity for the department to come together and reflect on the past year’s achievements.

One of the highlights of the evening was the vibrant atmosphere, with attendees enjoying a performance by UofT Engineering’s Stage Band and the opportunity to connect outside of the classroom. The evening also included the presentation of the 2025 MSE Impact Student Choice Awards, celebrating faculty and teaching assistants for their dedication and impact on student learning.
“As we look ahead to another exciting year, I want to acknowledge the dedication of our students, faculty, and staff,” said Professor Hani Naguib, Chair of MSE. “This event is a testament to the strong sense of community we have in our department, and I am excited for all that lies ahead.”
