Walter Curlook Lab – User Fees
The Walter Curlook Materials Characterization & Processing Laboratory was established through a generous gift by alumnus Dr. Walter Curlook (MMS 5T0, MASc 5T1, PhD 5T3), a distinguished adjunct professor and former president of Inco Metals Company.
The two facilities, split into Characterization (WB 147) and Processing (WB 53), house a range of analytical and process study instruments. They include the following:
- X-Ray Diffractometers (MiniFlex 600, D8 DISCOVER Plus)
- Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry (ICP–OES)
- Thermogravimetric analysis / Differential thermal analysis / Differential scanning calorimetry (TGA–DTA–DSC) Analyzer
- Laser Particle Size Analyzer
Complemented by sample preparation equipment in other laboratories, this lab serves students and faculty with their learning and research needs, as well as external academia and industry users seeking access to the advanced characterization facilities.
These forms are to be downloaded, signed and delivered to Dr. Acosta.
