Abstract: Thinking of joining a start-up or founding your own company? This talk will provide an intimate fireside chat about the journey of OTI Lumionics from it’s inception in the basement of the Wallberg Building in 2011, to a leading advanced materials company in the electronics sector.

Bio:  Michael is President & CEO of OTI Lumionics Inc., an advanced materials company he co-founded in 2011 based on his Ph.D. thesis work in the Department of in Materials Science & Engineering at the University of Toronto. His thesis was focused on interface engineering of next generation organic light emitting diode (OLED) displays and lighting and was supervised by Prof. ZhengHong Lu. Michael has published over 100 peer reviewed publications, was a Vanier Canada Graduate Scholar,  Governor General Gold Medal winner, and Chorafas Prize winner.

*Open to undergraduate and graduate students. The Impact Speaker Series features MSE alumni and industry associates sharing their professional experiences and career expertise with current undergraduate and graduate students, as well as with the greater department community.
