Alumnus Adam Roop is the President and General Manager of H. C. Starck Canada Inc. A company of German origin, H. C. Starck is a leading premium supplier of technology metals, high-performance ceramics, and thermal spray powders. As the head of the North American Tungsten division, Mr. Roop oversees the business of pure tungsten metal and tungsten carbide powders for cutting edge applications in impact and wear resistant applications, with an employee base of 50 people.
Recently, Mr. Roop spent 1 year in Vietnam as COO of a Vietnamese Joint Venture to commission a state of the art Tungsten Chemical Refinery. Mr. Roop received his undergraduate degree in materials engineering from U of T in 2002, holds a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Wilfrid Laurier University, and is also a Certified Professional Accountant (CPA).
