Materials Science & Engineering alumna Isabelle Dutil (BASc MSE 1T2, MHSc 1T4) has been awarded the prestigious Forté Fellowship.  The Forté Fellowship is awarded by the Forté Foundation to incoming female MBA students around the world who have demonstrated exemplary academic, team, or creative leadership.  Fellows selected have also shown a strong commitment to the development of young women through personal mentorship or community involvement.

After completing her BASc in MSE, Isabelle completed her MHSc in the Clinical Engineering program at U of T, including an internship at Massachusetts General Hospital before returning to Toronto where she currently works as a User Centered Design Specialist at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.  Isabelle recently began her MBA at Rotman in the Fall of 2016.

“I am honoured to be one of small group of Rotman students awarded this fellowship,” says Dutil.  “It is tremendously encouraging to be recognized for dedication to women in engineering. I am eager to join the small but growing community of people who aim to propel women engineers into successful business careers.”

Isabelle was part of the U of T Engineering Alumni Association Mentorship Program collaboration with Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) which matches alumni with current students interested in pursuing similar careers.  Isabelle was also active in another student organization at U of T, Women in Engineering and Science (WIES) that hosts a variety of outreach programs including an annual design competition aimed at introducing young women at an early age to engineering.

Rotman joined the Forté Foundation in 2013 and awards the Forté Fellowship each year to a small number of top female appicants.  The Forté Foundation is a: “non-profit consortium of leading companies and top business schools working together to launch women into fulfilling, significant careers through access to business education, opportunities, and a community of successful women.” – Forté Foundation
